25th anniversary - 15th February 1990 - 15th February 2015
My company started its activity on 15th February 1990. Our scope was designing and manufacturing interior decoration products made of wood combined with other materials. As I had only a perfect theoretical background, the first financial problems related to the shortage of money for paying financial liabilities, which were 2.5 times greater than the profitability assumed by me, appeared in November.
I decided to wait until spring 1991 and use that time for thinking the whole thing over and to acquire some new knowledge which led to expanding the scope of activity with exporting and importing ready-made products, as well as with wholesale and retail sale.
In April I was one of the first 2 companies in Poland to offer garden furniture of Italian producers, with cushions, umbrellas, tablecloths and tablemats designed by me and made from Polish fabrics by Polish craftsmen.
I started to cooperate with the factory manufacturing wooden garden furniture called “HASTE” who produced also a couple of my designs. The company activity from 1991 to December 2007 was carried out under the name T-Wyposażenie Wnętrz, Meble Ogrodowe /abbreviated to T-Milanówek, Teresa Kulesza-Leszczyńska/.
The address remains unchanged, so does the bank and many employees – only the children have grown up and even the new generation is born. Let's go back to 1991 when the customers enchanted with the offer left their money with us, I employed new workers – it was a great time. We worked efficiently and skilfully. We smiled and learnt interpersonal communication, export and import regulations. We were invited to prepare numerous and wonderful exhibitions, e.g. for I “Green is life” International Exhibition; MTP in Poznań; in the Ukraine in April 1992; in Moscow in July 1994. Invited by the companies willing to start cooperating with us, we participated in the trade fairs and exhibitions organised in Rimini (Italy) and Cologne (Germany). In April 1992 I opened a franchising branch office in “Automax” in Warsaw at Bartycka Str. In the same year we opened the first Polish supermarket “Hit” network and supplied it with the so-called “garden equipment”. Next, there came “Dom i ogród” and “Castorama”. For some time we cooperated with “Selgros” markets and wholesalers from Eastern and Middle Poland.
I led my really good workers and myself took up net curtains as I had nothing to hang in my windows at home which was passed by the customers. And that situation lasted until April 1992. I learnt Polish and European traditions of this abandoned technique, I looked for people who had their grandma or grandpa able to make the net. We learnt supported by Kinga Skowronek-Turska from the Ethnographic Museum in Toruń. In 1995 I displayed our first curtains and tablecloths on “DOMEXPO” in Poznań. They attracted attention, they were liked. Something new but old, the interested media published the first materials. This is still like that today. The number of patterns grows, so does the number of craftswomen, the quality stays the same – very high, winning favourable opinions of users. We decide to stop cooperating with markets, the salespeople find employment in other companies and the handicraft manufacture is created. The products are presented at exhibitions, art festivals, Polish and foreign fairs winning medals, awards and distinctions.
